At the scientific AMCRA symposium on “Antimicrobial Resistance: A Challenge for Public Health, Animal Health, and the Environment” in Brussels on June 25, 2024, Tommy van Limbergen from Anitom presented groundbreaking findings from the NeoGiANT project’s poultry trials. His presentation highlighted the initial results of administering the NeoGiANT extract via feed or drinking water to broilers, demonstrating significant positive impacts on broiler health and performance.
In addition to the compelling presentation, Anitom showcased two informative posters:
Preliminary Feed Trial in Calves: This poster, prepared in collaboration with partners from Moredun, detailed a preliminary trial focusing on the palatability and safety of the NeoGiANT extract in calves. This study sets the foundation for a more extensive feeding trial, crucial for assessing the extract’s broader applications.
Environmental Antibiotic Resistance in Hungary: The second poster, created with partners from MATE, addressed the pressing issue of environmental antibiotic resistance in Hungary. It emphasized a One Health approach, integrating human, animal, and environmental health to tackle antibiotic resistance comprehensively.
Anitom’s participation at the symposium underscores the innovative research and collaborative efforts driving the NeoGiANT project. Their contributions highlight the project’s commitment to developing sustainable solutions to combat antimicrobial resistance, enhancing animal health, and safeguarding the environment.
Stay tuned for more updates on the NeoGiANT project and our ongoing efforts to address the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance.
