The Farm to Fork strategy aims to transform our food system and enable Europe’s farmers to produce food in a way that enhances our natural environment. Following the second annual Farm to Fork conference in October, this episode looks at how the Farm to Fork vision is promoting new solutions to old problems at farm level, and how those solutions can sometimes be found from unlikely sources.

AVANT is a multi-actor inter-sectorial project aimed at developing alternatives to antimicrobials for the management of bacterial infections in pigs, especially diarrhoea during the weaning period, as the major indication for antimicrobial use in livestock in Europe.
We will collaborate with this project with events, promotion and other activities as our projects are complementary.
This project is a research programme to study the contributions of enhanced animal health and welfare on reducing the need to use antimicrobials in pigs and poultry.
