We are very glad that physical meetings are back after these two years of pandemic situation. Not only for the Consortium meetings, like we did in our KOM and First General Assembly in León (Spain), but also to attend events and conferences. This helps the project to cluster, network and add new knowledge and perspective. This month of June has been quite productive for our NeoGiANT team, as they participated in two different events, both in presence and virtually.
The first event that NeoGiANT team attended to was the 5th AMICI Symposium (Austrian Microbiome Initiative) in Vienna (Austria). Our colleague Balázs Libisch from Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) attended the symposium, presented a poster about acquired antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in domestic pigs and carps. As you can see in the next photos, there was a lot of activity and people during the symposium:
The second event took place in Bologna (Italy) on June 23rd, organised by a sister European Project called Healthy Livestock, a research programme to study the contributions of enhanced animal health and welfare on reducing the need to use antimicrobials in pigs and poultry.
Our Project Coordinator Marta Lores, from LIDSA (Laboratorio de Investigación y Desarrollo de Soluciones Analíticas), and Felipe Martínez-Pastor from Bianor Biotech virtually participated in this meeting, presenting NeoGiANT project and talking about our work on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Both of them, along with Claudia Serra from CIIMAR (Centro Interdisciplinar de Investigação Marinha e Ambiental) presented three electronic posters about AMR. You can take a look at them in our web, but we leave you this one here:
Later on, Marta Lores also travelled to Granada to attend in person to the XXXVIII Biennial Meeting of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ in Spanish). The event was held from 27-30 June in this Andalusian city and this time, Marta presented the research carried out by LIDSA, one of our members.
We sre looking forward to the next events, conferences and symposiums in order to stay tuned with the news of our different sectors and to keep spreading the work we as a consortium.
Take the chance and exchange experiences and knowledge about the importance of finding sustainable alternatives to reduce AMR.

[…] We are so happy that these events can shade some light on AMR , animal welfare, animal and human health with all their sides and perspectives. It is quite positive to be able to reunite so many professionals from different sectors and to get their valuable insights. And, of course, it is nice to see face-to-face events slowly coming back, as we told you in this post about NeoGiANT’s activities during the month of June. […]
