On January 29-30, 2025, the NeoGiANT consortium gathered at the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) for an important Review Meeting. As we approach the final months of the project, this meeting was a key opportunity to assess our progress, address challenges, and coordinate the next steps to ensure NeoGiANT delivers impactful and sustainable results.
Over the two-day meeting, partners engaged in in-depth discussions on the latest advancements in NeoGiANT’s innovative antimicrobial solutions. Each work package leader presented their progress, highlighting achievements and identifying potential risks that could impact the final implementation stages. However, with a strong collaborative spirit, the consortium worked together to propose effective solutions and mitigation strategies, ensuring a smooth path toward the project’s successful completion.
Beyond the strategic discussions, the meeting also included exclusive guided tours of two leading research facilities:
🔬 USC Faculty of Chemistry Laboratories – Our hosts at USC provided an insightful tour of their state-of-the-art laboratories, showcasing the advanced technologies and methodologies supporting NeoGiANT’s research. This visit reinforced the crucial role of fundamental and applied science in developing next-generation solutions for sustainable livestock production.
🏭 I-GRAPE Laboratories – On January 30, the consortium visited the I-GRAPE facilities, where we explored their latest infrastructure and research plans. The visit provided a deeper understanding of how our project results could be integrated into real-world applications, further solidifying NeoGiANT’s commitment to sustainable and efficient antimicrobial alternatives.
With just a few months left before the project concludes, the NeoGiANT team is more determined than ever to finalize the last stages of research, validation, and implementation. Our focus is on ensuring that the project’s outcomes will have a lasting impact on animal health, sustainability, and the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
The countdown to completion has begun, and we are excited to keep pushing boundaries in these final stages! Stay tuned for more updates as we wrap up this groundbreaking journey.
