Recently, the coordinator of the NeoGiANT project was interviewed as part of a case study commissioned by the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) of the European Commission. This research, led by PPMI (part of the Verian group), analyzes the impact of EU-funded projects in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the veterinary field, in line with the One Health approach.
The main objective of this study, titled “Contribution of research and innovation on veterinary aspects of the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR)”, is to assess the implementation, results, and policy relevance of innovative initiatives like NeoGiANT. During the interview, the project’s achievements were discussed, including the development of natural antimicrobial formulations aimed at reducing antibiotic use in animal production, promoting sustainable and safe alternatives.
The European Commission recognizes the importance of this research and has supported the study through an endorsement letter from DG AGRI. The information gathered will contribute to the formulation of future EU strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance, a global challenge affecting both animal health and public health.
At NeoGiANT, we remain committed to innovation and sustainability in the veterinary sector, providing science-based solutions to address this challenge. We appreciate the opportunity to share our experience and results in this significant study.
Take the chance and exchange experiences and knowledge about the importance of finding sustainable alternatives to reduce AMR.
